Information We Collect and How We Collect It

We do not collect any information from you automatically. The only information we will receive from you is the information you provide us, either through creating an account on the Services, contacting us through our Contact Us or Bug links, sending an email to the email address listed above or contacting us through our social media channels. When you interact with us on our social media accounts, such as YouTube, Twitch, Discord, or Bluesky, the information collected is governed by the privacy policies of the relevant social media platform.

These interactions will remain on the platform on which they occur. The Services permit you to create an account in order to track your suggested pins and progress as you update them according to how you interact with the corresponding game. Account setup requires you to first possess a Google or Apple account and then link it to the Services. After this account setup is done, we will store your email address and checked pins, which will be encrypted at rest.

Children Under the Age of 16

Our services are directed toward adults. We request that no children under age 16 access the Services or interact with us on social media without including written parental consent. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 16 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 16, please contact us at shackmaps@shacknews.com. This policy is in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and Article 6(1)(c)z of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”).

We do not, under any circumstances, sell your data to third parties. We do not deploy first party cookies or other first party automatic information collecting technologies.

However, the Services are integrated with Google Analytics, Google OAUTH (for account logins), and NowMetrix, which use cookies and other automatic information collection technologies to collect information about visitors, page views, referral pages, course location, session duration, device information and other information to give us information on traffic to and within the Services. We recommend consulting Google’s Privacy & Terms and NowMetrix’s Privacy Policy for more information on how these services collect and store your data. Our website is also hosted by Amazon Web Services, which may collect certain site information when you interact with or access our site. Amazon’s Privacy Policy can be found here. You may be able to block certain of the cookies and other information collection technologies deployed by these companies using your browser settings.
